Author Guidelines
Authors who apply for a contribution for its possible publication in UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ must certify the evaluation of the editorial opinion according to the following stages:
-
We will appreciate that the text is an original and unpublished contribution.
-
We will verify that the postulated text is related to the areas covered by the magazine.
-
Accredit a review under the tool approved by the Editorial Committee for plagiarism detection ( Turnitin ), only after that it will be possible to continue with the following stages of the editorial opinion.
-
We will check that the bibliography used is relevant, updated and duly standardized in Vancouver format.
-
We will check that the text complies with each of the format indications indicated in the requirements for the application and delivery of articles, as well as in the guidelines for authors.
-
In accordance with the editorial policy guidelines approved by the Editorial Committee, we will prioritize texts whose bibliography is delivered electronically managed and with active hyperlinks to the respective DOIs, where appropriate.
Once the proposed contribution accredits the editorial opinion, we will formally notify the contact author of the registration and start of the academic opinion process.
Manuscript Preparation
For the delivery of the material, the following criteria must be taken into consideration:
-
Deliver the text in electronic format for word processing (sending PDF files will not be accepted). Use the submission emplate to submit your manuscript.
-
We do not accept tables in the form of images, they must come directly from a program such as Excel or be made in Word itself, included in the text. The title of the table must be concise and directly related to its content.
-
The figures (diagrams, graphs, photographs, drawings, maps, among others) must be in JPG format (or compatible), with proportional width and height. Figures that do not meet these characteristics will be returned to the author and the article cannot be submitted for evaluation. Figures of authorship other than the author of the article must indicate the source from which they come.
-
Both tables and figures must be included in the text, numbered in Arabic and in line with the text.
Sequence of presentation and structure of the article
Articles should be divided into sections in the following order:
Title: It must be brief, explanatory and must indicate the essence of the work in less than or equal to 20 words. It should not contain the scientific and common names of the cited organisms. It will not include abbreviations or acronyms, except those known by the entire scientific public. It must not begin with a grammatical article, verb or action. Avoid phrases such as: Aspects of, Comments on, Research on, Studies of, Preliminary studies on, Notes on, Comments on, as well as ambiguities, dates, localisms and formulas. Titles written in Spanish and English should be included.
Summary: The summary provides the introductory structure: What is the problem?; the purpose of the study; materials and methods: How was the problem studied?; results: What was found?; and conclusions: discussion of what the results mean. The length is 150-200 words. With the exception of the conclusions, the abstract is written in the past tense and no references are included. There will be readers who can only access the summary, so it is important that it be as quantitative as possible to offer objective data of the study.
Keywords: 4 to 6 precise keywords that increase the visibility and diffusion of the article, separated by semicolons “;” in alphabetical order. Do not repeat terms presented in the title or synonyms.
Abstract: The summary provides the introductory structure: what is the problem?; the purpose of the study; material and methods: How was the problem studied?; results: What was found?; and conclusions: discussion of what the results mean. The length is 150-200 words. With the exception of the conclusions, the abstract is written in the past tense and no references are included. There will be readers who can only access the summary, so it is important that it be as quantitative as possible to offer objective data of the study.
Keywords: From 4 to 6 precise keywords that increase the visibility and diffusion of the article, separated by semicolons “;” in alphabetical order. Do not repeat terms presented in the title and synonyms.
Introduction: It is important that the introduction is short and interesting. The introduction is not intended to list all the work done to date on the subject (eg, objective of a thesis). The main objective is that the reader wants to continue reading the article because it truly represents an advance in the literature. The bibliography cited in this section is key. The reviewers, experts in the field, will know if a relevant work has not been mentioned. Therefore, the appointments have to be well selected. One way to ascertain the importance of a citation is to choose articles published in high-impact, recent (and relevant) journals, or those that are constantly cited in the literature that has been reviewed. It is written in the present tense.
In UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ we evaluate that the Introduction presents a total length of between 7 to 10 paragraphs (8 lines maximum) duly argued in the scientific literature. It must clearly and objectively answer the questions: What is the research problem? What is known about the problem to date? Why is it important to study that problem? What scientific gap do I solve?, to finally present the objective (objectives) of the study and, if applicable, the research hypothesis.
Materials and methods: This section is written in the past tense and impersonally. Answer the question How has the problem been studied? The objective of the methodological description is to make it easier for other researchers to replicate the study later. The chronology of events must be respected. You can use tables or diagrams (figures) if necessary.
UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ we value that the Materials and methods section shows the research environment; type, level and design; variables, dimensions and indicators (summary); population and sample; data collection techniques and instruments; interventions (if applicable) and statistical analyses.
In a review article, this section will be called "Review Methodology" and will describe in detail the protocol used for the review of the state of the art or issue.
Results and discussion: This section is written in the past tense and impersonally. It must be concise, brief and clear, without including any judgment, explanation and personal interpretation.
UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ we recommend that as the Results are presented, they are discussed through the reasoning of the central contribution of the work and its significance for the advancement of the discipline, identifying similarities or differences with other studies, if applicable. To end this section, you should provide the strategic scope of the results, as well as the limitations of the study.
We will also accept manuscripts that write this section separately, if this is the case, the authors must create the section. Discussion; maintaining the criteria recommended in the previous paragraph.
Conclusions: The conclusion must respond to the stated objective, and reflect the results found in a very general way, but in a less structured way than at the beginning of the discussion. Future research possibilities, as well as practical implications, should also be indicated in this section, in a general way.
This section is written in the present tense in a brief and objective way. Do not use bullets. We suggest an extension of 1 to 3 paragraphs.
Acknowledgments (optional): In the acknowledgments section, the work and collaboration of both people and institutions that have helped in the writing and review of the article must be acknowledged.
Funding: This section announces the funding (grants or grants) received during the period in which the research was carried out and/or the manuscript was written. Indicate the institution that financed the project and the execution resolution.
If the research received no funding, indicate "The authors did not receive any sponsorship to carry out this study-article".
Conflict of interest: The authors who do not have any conflict of interest related to the subject of the work must declare that "There is no type of interest related to the subject of the work".
Bibliographic references: Original articles must have at least 15 bibliographic references, and review articles 30. All citations must be referenced and vice versa. UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ adopts the APA 7th edition bibliographic style in English or Spanish. All cited internet sources must have a DOI or URL link. It is important to guarantee that at least 70% of the references come from scientific articles published in indexed academic journals, and that they are less than five years old. We suggest the use of bibliographic managers, preferably Mendeley.
Authorship contribution: The works describe the specific contribution of each collaborator to the academic production. Insert the data of the authors according to the example, excluding what does not correspond. More information https://casrai.org/credit/
Units: Only International System (IS) units and abbreviations should be used. Abbreviations referred to in the IS and/or non-standard abbreviations should be explained when they first appear in the text. Periods should not be used in abbreviations.
Authorship
We prefer collaborations with a maximum of six authors and only with a greater number when the complexity of the document justifies the collaboration of more participants, in this case it is required to verify with relevant documentation that the article is the product of a group research project.
Once the work has been sent, it will not be possible to make changes in the order or in the number of authors, so all questions related to authorship must be resolved before sending the manuscript for the first time.
Responsibility for the content
By submitting the manuscript, we assume that each of the authors has had full access to all study data and assumes full and public responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the data analysis. For this reason, UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ declines any responsibility for possible conflicts arising from the authorship of the works published in it.
Anonymity in the identity of the authors
UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ will take care not to include in the body of the article any information that reveals the identity of the authors, this in order to ensure an anonymous evaluation by the academic peers who will make the opinion. After acceptance of the manuscript, all identification information will be included on the initial page.
Inbreeding
UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ publishes a limited number of articles per year. So, to serve the entire community, you will not publish more than one article per author and per volume or year (exceptionally two). Publications for members of the National Autonomous University of Alto Amazonas will not exceed 20% per number.
Note: UNAAACIENCIA-PERÚ declares that the presentation of the articles, as well as the way of writing, was elaborated based on the proposal of Santesteban-Echarri & Núñez-Morales (2017).
