This experiment evaluated the effect of Sacha oregano and Sacha cilantro plant extracts on the growth of pre-breeding paiche fingerlings for 102 days in the Tarapoto, San Martín region. A factorial design of two extracts and four doses with three repetitions was applied. The evaluating parameters were mortality, weight, height, weight gain, and feed conversion factor. The results showed that using Sacha oregano as an additive was promising since the treated fish achieved a higher weight than the control. However, other significant differences are not observed in the other parameters, so more research is required to evaluate the effects of these extracts in the complete growth cycle of the paiche. In summary, the use of Sacha oregano as an additive in paiche cultivation could be beneficial, but more study is needed to determine its long-term effectiveness.
